Holly Menino is an Emmy-nominated award-winning journalist with more than ten years of broadcast experience. Holly currently anchors KUTV 2 News This Morning from 4:30am to 8am Monday through Friday.
Throughout the course of Holly’s career she’s had the privilege of covering major news stories, from the scene and from the anchor desk, including a massive landslide in North Salt Lake, Utah and a high school shooting in Roseburg, Oregon. She's had several station franchises and currently manages KUTV's Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) franchise. She hosts a weekly technology segment. Her technology reporting earned her an Emmy nomination for her story on a young boy that received a 3D printed ear. Holly is well versed in social media. She uses various social media tools for her reporting and helps manage 2News This Morning's Facebook page.
From primary presidential politics to the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials to the epidemic of human trafficking, Holly has covered a wide array of stories. She was sent on assignment to China and completed a five part series and a half-hour special on the Eugene-China Connection. Her investigative reporting landed her numerous exclusive interviews, the most notable being the conclusion of a 15-year-old cold case. With that story she won first place for both general reporting and investigative reporting in the 2011 Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Northwest Excellence in Journalism Contest.
Holly is not only a passionate journalist, but also a dedicated member of her community. If she’s not out covering breaking news you can find her emceeing community events or exploring the great outdoors with her husband and children.
